It's been my observation that part of the reason so many PB communities die nowadays is because people either clique or die. So I've had the idea of perhaps starting up a community, probably a simple city game or suchlike, where people are required to come into the game WITHOUT any storylines with other people already mapped out. All storylines must be played out in-game, rather than plotted out in ~pbads and then left to flounder. One of my favourite things to do is come into a game with no connections whatsoever and see what happens. Unfortunately lately, the answer to that is not a lot. It seems like everyone needs to be such-and-such's uncle's cousin's sister's long-lost lovechild in order to get any activity.
Naturally, this would be an honour system; I can't police what everyone does OOC, but I'd like to think if they're going to join my game, they're going to obey my rules.
Ideas and thoughts are appreciated. |
